HOD’s Message

The Humanities and Applied Sciences Department has a significant aim to lay a strong, concrete and sound foundation for the First-Year students, which is necessary for them to formulate, solve and analyze engineering problems and prepare for higher studies. The BTech First Year Department a vital role in shaping the academic and professional foundation of engineering students. With a total intake of 780 students, the department acts as the entry point to engineering education, focusing on building strong fundamentals in mathematics, basic sciences, and core engineering principles.
Visualization of an abstract idea or concept, before giving it a form or structure, is an exercise that the department wishes to put to practice, to develop cognitive abilities of young minds. The curriculum basically acts as an interface between science and technology and explores common foundations of language.
The department has highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members with strong commitment to engineering education and professional ethics. Together, we strive to produce technocrats, who can contribute productively to the world of technology.
In addition to academics, the department encourages students to participate in technical activities, value-added courses, workshops, seminars, and co-curricular programs. These activities help students enhance communication skills, teamwork, ethical values, and problem-solving abilities, which are essential for professional success.
We strive to maintain a disciplined, inclusive, and student-centric learning environment that promotes curiosity, innovation, and lifelong learning. Through regular mentoring and academic support, we aim to help students adapt smoothly to the demands of engineering education.
We encourage all students to take responsibility for their learning, make effective use of available resources, and actively engage in both academic and co-curricular activities. I wish every student a productive, enriching, and successful academic journey.
